A word from Christy..."Hello, my name is Christy Farley and I am a cardiac transplant survivor
. I am 39 years old and received my transplant in 1986, at the age of 12 at NY Columbia Presbyterian. It was truly a gift of life. Since that time, I have lived life to the fullest. I excelled in academics and graduated high school with honors. I went on to attend The University of Scranton where I majored in nursing and graduated with a BSN, earning a membership in the National Nursing Honor Society. I worked for 16 years as a registered nurse and worked my way up to leadership positions. Over the past 2 1/2 years, due to the long term side effects of the anti-rejection meds, my health has taken a turn for the worse. I will be on the medications for the rest of my life. As of January of 2012, my transplant cardiologist determined I was no longer able to work. I filed for social security disability and I am still waiting for their final decision. In order to pay for my monthly bills which include $1260 monthly premium for health care coverage and $500 monthly for prescription copays, I have depleted all of my savings. I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter who is the love of my life. We are in desperate need of help.
If you feel you can assist us in anyway, it would be greatly appreciated!

There is a fundraiser on November 18th in Teterboro at Gold’s Gym for Christy. Christy’s uncle is a world famous bodybuilder and her is hosting the fundraiser.
