About Rotary:

The Rotary Club of Hoboken was founded in 1921 and is part of the worldwide service organization known as, Rotary International.  Rotary International was established in Chicago in 1905, and it quickly grew throughout the US and to over 80 countries in less than 10 years. Rotary is credited as the world's first service organization, and it occupies the only non-governmental seat at the United Nations. Today, Rotary has over 1.2 million members in 200 countries worldwide dedicated to furthering the goals of   service, international understanding, health, and literacy.

About the Gift of Life:

Gift of Life is a Rotarian organization, formed in 1975, that currently operates in 79 countries. Their sole mission is to provide life-saving medical treatment to children with heart disease from emerging countries. These children have little or no access to medical care. Gift of Life brings these children and a guardian to the US, arranges for the needed surgery and necessary medications. Throughout their entire stay, an army of Rotarian volunteers offer housing, meals, navigation through the complicated medical process and most needed emotional support. All of this is at no cost to the family. Since inception, 30,000 children’s lives have been saved by Gift of Life and the fight has only just begun.
